Travelers Encouraged to Use Alternative Transportation During the Holiday Season

December Holiday Tips The holiday season is a time for connecting with loved ones, and Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) is excited to welcome travelers during one of our busiest times of the year. As passenger numbers rise, our parking lots are expected to fill quickly. To make your journey as smooth as possible, we encourage you to consider alternative transportation options:

  • Taxi Services
Arrange for a Comox Taxi to drop you off and pick you up right at the airport.

  • Ride-Sharing
Coastal Rides or Uride provide a hassle-free way to get to YQQ.

  • Shuttle Services
Enjoy the convenience of a pre-booked Ambassador or Island Chauffeur shuttle for reliable transportation.

  • Drop-Off by a Friend or Family Member
A thoughtful lift to the airport makes a great start to your trip—don't forget to bring back a little something to say thank you!

For more information on transportation options, please visit our website at www.comoxairport.com/ground-transportation.

We offer the following tips for travelling at peak traffic times as well:
  1. Check the status of your flight online before coming to the airport.
  2. Follow guidelines from your airline on when to check-in and arrive at the airport. Monitor your inbox for updates on travel day.
  3. If you travel with gifts, don’t wrap them in gift wrap before packing – do that once you get to your destination. Search the best ways to pack specific items at www.CATSA.ca.
Passengers can monitor the status of our lots 24 hours a day at www.comoxairport.com and our social media channels. If you plan on parking, these will help keep the process smooth:
  • Save Time with Online Check-In
Complete your check-in online and get your boarding pass before heading to the airport.

  • Arrive Early
Plan to arrive well ahead of your flight, and follow your airline’s guidelines for check-in and security screening times.

  • Use Mobile Payment for Parking
Once you’re at the terminal, skip the pay meters using the HONK or PayByPhone apps to pay for parking conveniently.
