Fred joined the Comox Valley Airport Commission in July 2012 as Chief Executive Officer, after 34 years with the Canadian Forces. Fred served mainly as a maritime Surveillance and Reconnaissance pilot, flying the Aurora aircraft in the Pacific, Arctic, North Atlantic and the Middle East. During his most recent tour in Comox as the Wing Commander, he was privileged to fly as a Search and Rescue pilot on the Buffalo. He then spent a year peacekeeping in the Sinai as the Chief of Liaison for the Multinational Force along the Israeli/Egyptian border. His final position was as the Director General, Personnel and Family Support Services and CEO of the Staff of the Non Public Funds, where he was responsible for approximately 6,500 military and civilian personnel. Fred was simply delighted to be selected by the CVAC Board to return to the Valley he loves and work in such an incredibly positive organization.

Frank brings a broad understanding of the travel and aviation industry with him to CVAC. He has owned a travel agency and held positions with Canadian, Air Canada Jazz and WestJet. His most recent position saw him involved with special projects for WestJet including the expansion of the airline’s domestic network as well as the initial entry into the United States. His varied career has provided him with experience as a travel agent and in airline sales, customer service, training and operations - including logistics, cargo and ground handling.

Richard brings 37 years of public sector experience with him to CVAC, most of which was at a senior management level. He is a former Director at the Ontario Ministry of Government Services and the Ontario Ministry of Consumer and Business Services. Richard now lives and works in Comox as a consultant specializing in public sector service improvement where he works with clients around the globe. He is currently the President and Board Chair of the Rotary Foundation Canada and serves on several other boards including the Dawn to Dawn Homeless Society. Richard is a graduate of University of Saskatchewan where he studied Economics and Political Science.

Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Fred spent 30 years with the British Columbia Ambulance service, including serving as Executive Director for the province. He was inducted in to the St. John's order of Canada in 1991, the same year he returned to Cumberland and became involved in local politics. Fred served on Cumberland Council for six years and then as Mayor of Cumberland for nine years. During that time he was elected as the Chair of both the Regional Hospital District and the Comox Valley Regional District. Fred received the Queens Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012 for his work in local government and promoting stronger economic relations with central Vancouver Island and China. He is currently Vice president of the Courtenay and district Fish and game protective association, as well as a director on the Comox Valley community foundation board and the local branch of St. John's Ambulance.

Andy moved to the Comox Valley in 2003 after a 32-year career with IBM in a variety of Sales, Marketing and Executive Management roles. His experience includes managing and supporting sales teams responsible for delivering significant revenue and profit results spanning all information technology sectors. He has travelled extensively for both business and pleasure and is strongly committed to ensuring a vibrant local economy here in the Comox Valley. Andy currently works as an Information Technology Consultant and supports Innovation Island’s Venture Acceleration Program. He also volunteers as a Snow Host on Mount Washington and has supported the Comox Valley Boys and Girls Club’s fundraising activities.

Martin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation and works as a consultant in transport planning and policy. For eight years he served as the first BC Ferries Commissioner, independently overseeing BC Ferries' performance and setting fare caps. In his five year term as Regional Transportation Commissioner he rendered formal, independent opinions on the performance and planning of TransLink, the provider of public transit within Metro Vancouver. A resident of Comox since 1999, Martin has served as a director of the Old Church Theatre Society and as a member of the Advisory Planning Commission for the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona. He coordinated Kye Bay Clean Up, a successful community initiative to join the Town of Comox and obtain municipal sewerage and water services. Martin currently chairs the Kye Bay Ratepayers' Association.

The owner of Ascent Coaching, Linda is a business and executive coach whose clients span the globe. Leadership is a key element of her coaching and speaking engagements, as are team-building and productivity. Linda is a past president of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Comox Valley Women's Business Network, which named her Woman of the Year in 2002. An active Rotarian, she served as president of the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial in 2008-09

Joe is a licensed Professional Community Planner with 37 years of municipal planning experience, including serving as a Director of Planning and Sustainability with the City of Regina. He brings valuable knowledge of regulatory processes, capital project management, legal principles and practice, public administration and governance and risk management with him to the board. Joe believes air service is a critical part of our transportation system and essential to sustaining the Comox Valley’s economic future. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and is presently retired with his wife Colleen in the Comox Valley.

As an independent business operator, Keith has a hands-on approach to every aspect of his businesses from preparing financial statements to tracking payroll. He has been involved in the business of producing and supplying concrete for more than 47 years. In 1998 Keith and his wife Joanne started up Cumberland Ready Mix and then later acquired Cumberland Sand and Gravel. He has served on the boards of several business and industry organizations including; the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce, the North Vancouver Island Construction Association, the Vancouver Island Construction Association and the British Columbia Construction Association. Volunteerism is a big part of Keith’s life. His business raises thousands for worthwhile community groups annually and he currently sits on the Boards of the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial and the Comox Valley Community Foundation.

Susan has lived and worked in the Comox Valley for over 20 years. As the former Executive Director of the North Island College Foundation and the Director of Community Relations, Susan has valuable experience in strategic, administrative and operational planning, budget review and allocation, policy development and program evaluation. During her eight years of service on the Comox Valley Economic Development Board (four of those as President) she has gained relevant governance and board development skills. Susan has also served on the Comox Valley Art Gallery Board.
