Earlier in the evening the new COVID Business Resiliency Award went to the Airport's On The Fly Café. When the pandemic hit co-owners, Jackie Bruneau and Andrea Wagemaker, developed a new menu focused on take-out, working with the airport on a new take away window to continue to serve in a COVID safe manner.
"Providing café services for passengers is an important aspect of customer service. By developing a workable solution for curbside access, the café was able to expand their market, without increasing traffic within the terminal - a necessity in these times of physical distancing. The popularity of "Pie on the Fly" has been an unprecedented success, and speaks to the importance of cooperation and creative solutions amidst the myriad of challenges due the pandemic. The airport team congratulates On The Fly Café for their most deserved award" said Airport CEO Mike Atkins.
