Christine Gibson Elected as Vice Chair to the Comox Valley Airport Commission

The Comox Valley Airport Commission (CVAC) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Director Christine Gibson to the position of Vice Chair on the Comox Valley Airport Commission's Board of Directors.

Gibson will take over the role that was previously held by Brad Minton, who was acclaimed as the Chair following the resignation of Ken Dawson in March of this year.

"Christine has a clear understanding of the travel and tourism industry and is a strong proponent of community service", said Chair Brad Minton. "The Board believes her knowledge and experience will be a great asset in her new role as Vice Chair and I'm looking forward to working with her in this capacity."

Gibson is the owner of Uniglobe Travel Alliance in Courtenay and has 20 years of experience in the travel industry. Prior to joining the CVAC board in February 2010, Christine served a two-year term as a Port Alberni city councillor. She also sat on North Island College's Board of Governors from 2002 to 2009, where she served as Chair for over three of those years. Gibson currently sits on the Board of Directors for the North Island College Foundation.

The Comox Valley Airport Commission is the governing authority for the operation of the Comox Valley Airport. CVAC is a federally incorporated, non-profit entity. It was established through letters patent in 1996.
