Lucky United Way Winner to Receive Ride in Fighter Jet

On August 25, 2011, the United Way will host a media session prior to the take off of a lucky winner from its Krazy Kar Rally. This individual won a ride in a fighter jet courtesy of Jet Pro out of Alberta.

The lucky winner will fly with Ed McDonald, the owner and operator of a beautiful Aero Vodochody L-39ZA Albatros, which is based at St. Albert, Alberta, Canada and is available for air shows, flybys and film.

The L-39 Albatros, a high-performance jet trainer, was developed by Czechoslovakia during the 1960's as a successor to the L-29 Delfin. Built by Aero-Vodochody, it entered full-scale production in late 1972. It was designed for basic, advanced, and operational pilot training and for light attack missions.

Media are invited to attend this event. Please meet at the CVAC Administration Office at 3:45pm on August 25, 2011 for interviews and an escort onto the ramp for photos.
