Recently the Chinese Consul General Tian ChunYan of the People's Republic of China's Vancouver Consulate office made a visit to the Comox Valley. The trip included tours and discussions on significant historical sites, key businesses and the airport with a focus on the emerging importance of B.C. as an Asia-Pacific gateway. This is the third visit of its kind to the Valley, but the first which focused specifically on Cumberland and the Chinese history there.
