Chinese Consulate Visits Comox Valley Airport

The Chinese delegation is welcomed at the Comox Valley Airport (from the left) mayor of Cumberland Fred Bates and his wife Barb, Cumberland May Queen, Consul General Madam Tien, Ian Cheng - Comox CanadAsia Business Society and standing behind is CVAC Chair Terrance Law Recently the Chinese Consul General Tian ChunYan of the People's Republic of China's Vancouver Consulate office made a visit to the Comox Valley. The trip included tours and discussions on significant historical sites, key businesses and the airport with a focus on the emerging importance of B.C. as an Asia-Pacific gateway. This is the third visit of its kind to the Valley, but the first which focused specifically on Cumberland and the Chinese history there.
