On November 26 the management team of the Comox Valley Airport proudly accepted the prestigious 2007 BC Airport Council Airport Management Award. This award was presented at a gala event as part of a two day conference hosted by BCAC. The award is in recognition of initiatives undertaken to improve operations and customer relations, deliver cost saving initiatives, implement environmental improvements, successful promotional campaigns, handling of capital budgets on a timely and fiscal manner and overall contribution to the improvement of air transportation network in B.C.

"This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the CVAC management and is the icing on the cake for an outstanding year" says CVAC Chair Dave Mellin. CEO Chuck Fast summarizes some of the many accomplishments and milestones in 2007. "The Airport received number one in Canadian airports for customer satisfaction for the fourth consecutive year. Passenger numbers are up by 32% over last year and we will exceed 300,000 passengers this year. The airport continues to provide additional services and flights such as the direct flights to Cancun this December. Life is good and we are very proud to provide excellent airport service to the community."
