Mexican Themed Celebration for the First International Flight On Monday December 20, as the dawn broke, the first direct flight to Mexico departed from the Comox Valley. While passengers waited, they were entertained with Mexican music played by the band Fiesta and authentic tamales were served by Tita's Mexican Restaurant and hot chocolate by Joe Cartos on the Fly! These flights are made possible by a partnership between West Jet Airlines and Transat Holidays. Sales representative for Transat, Connie Stecyk welcomed passengers and indicated that the flight loads to Puerto Vallarta are doing very, with some weeks sold out. Stecyk had everyone's undivided attention when she announced that 2 people on that inaugural flight would have their vacation package paid for by Transat Holidays. Chuck Fast CEO drew the winning ticket and the lucky recipients were Albert and Marion Lavigne from Kyuquot. For more information on these flight packages to Mexico, contact your travel agent. | |
