Comox Valley Airport Scores #1 in Canada for Three Consecutive Years!

Passengers awarded an exceptional 4.52 rating on the 5-point satisfaction scale in a recent Canada wide Customer Service and Benchmarking Survey. YQQ has emerged as the highest ranked airport for the past three years.

"This is truly an exciting achievement for the Comox Valley Airport and the community. All of the staff, tenants, and volunteers take great pride in this community asset and we are very pleased that our efforts are recognized by the travelling public," says Chuck Fast CEO of the Comox Valley Airport Commission.

Passengers continue to express high level of satisfaction with efficiency factors that are related to the speed and ease of passenger flow and processing. Speed of check-in and speed of processing at security screening generated exceptional satisfaction scores at YQQ.

Satisfaction with terminal and washroom cleanliness at YQQ - two measures related to an airport's overall ambience both emerged as the top ranked airport.

Passengers awarded very strong ratings for courtesy of security screening staff and courtesy of airport staff. Passengers remain highly satisfied with safety and security at YQQ.

One of a number of glowing of passenger endorsements states "I was just thinking before I received this survey how this was the last airport I would be in for a while that was so relaxing and pleasant."

As reflected in prior studies, the dominating areas of concern are road access and signage and ground transportation. "This is a huge challenge for the Airport Commission. CVAC provides a regional airport service from a small community. About half of the customers using the airport originate, or are destined to, points outside of the Valley. Convenient ground transportation and connectivity to the Inland Island Highway remain a top priority for the Commission" according to Chuck Fast.

In addition to customer service the comprehensive study also includes important and useful demographic data. As an example 27% of passengers reside in the Comox Valley, 22% from other parts of B.C., 46% from other parts of Canada and 5% form outside the country. Visiting friends and relatives continues to rank high as the primary reason for travel.
