Number One Again!
The Comox Airport has, for the fourth consecutive year, received top marks in the country for Customer Satisfaction. Ten airports, including Charlottetown, Victoria, Saskatoon & Prince George, took part in the nation wide survey that took place simultaneously during the last week of August. This annual Customer Satisfaction & Benchmarking Program is conducted by InterVISTAS Consulting Inc, who specializes in strategic transportation and tourism solutions. Comox Airport shone in a number of areas. Passengers were very impressed with the cleanliness and décor of the terminal, the courteous airport staff, and overall efficiency. CEO Chuck Fast sends his accolades to the over 200 people who work and volunteer at the airport. "These results are a testament of the commitment of all of the employees toward customer service. As an example, the majority of airport employees, tenants and volunteers have completed the BC SuperHost program." Operations Manager Ian Heselgrave is extremely proud of his team of twelve staff. "It is a challenge to keep such a large facility clean day and night, says Heselgrave. We have set the bar high, in terms of standards, and the staff consistently meet or exceed the expectations - and with a smile!" The current facility started to show its limitations this summer due to customer volume and demand. One of the areas that passengers thought could be improved upon is increased public seating within the terminal. Fast says "It's quite evident where the problem areas are due to the increased passenger volumes. They are readily identified by stanchions which help keep the people moving throughout the terminal. We have stanchions at check in, security, the coffee shop, car rentals areas, and at Customs." | |
