CVAC Elects New Treasurer

Ken Dawson, Chair of the Comox Valley Airport Commission (CVAC), is pleased to announce that Darlene Neuman has been elected to the position of treasurer of CVAC. Neuman has been a Director on the Commission and an Airport volunteer Ambassador since 2006.

"Darlene's extensive years as a business owner in the tourism and transportation sector provides her with a solid background for this position. She also brings many years of appointments on governing boards and held elected positions including Mayor, Alderman, and School Trustee. Darlene participated and chaired committees that varied from building a new hospital to the development of a transportation plan for the North Coast." said Dawson. "I am pleased to have her serving CVAC in this key leadership role" he added.

For over 25 years Neuman was the owner and manager of Seaport Limousine Ltd and Stewart Travel Centre in Stewart, BC. Both businesses required multi-tasking and wearing many hats and first hand experience in dealing with Transportation Authorities.

Neuman has been involved with a wide range of volunteer and appointed positions which have included marriage commissioner, chair of NW highways Task Force, and Governor of the Northwest Community College Board.

In response to accepting the role of treasurer, Neuman says "I am confident that CVAC will be able to weather the current economic downturn. Even with the challenges facing the industry, Comox Airport is still #1 in customer service in Canada, we have outstanding staff and volunteers; together we are all looking optimistically to the future."
