All funds raised will be donated to Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island

The Comox Valley Airport will be hosting a special volunteer recognition and fundraising barbeque at the Comox Valley Airport from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13. All profits will be donated to Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island to help children with disabilities and health challenges. The Comox Valley Airport Commission will be matching all donations to double the impact of the event.

The barbeque will be hosted by the Comox Valley Airport and On the Fly Café. Members of the public are invited to join YQQ's volunteers for a burger, pop and chips for $6.00. With food purchase, or a donation, guests can enter a free draw to win a beautiful handcrafted garden bench and other great prizes. The event takes place rain or shine and parking at the airport will be free for guests attending the barbeque.

About the Comox Valley Airport's Volunteer Program

The Comox Valley Airport is celebrating its 51 volunteers during National Volunteer Week, which takes place from April 10 to 16 this year. YQQ's volunteer program attracts individuals with a broad range of experience and skills. Each volunteer is scheduled for an average of one shift per week, coinciding with peak traffic volumes in the terminal building. Volunteers play a key role in shaping a passenger's first perception of the airport. They are stationed throughout the terminal to assist with both arriving and departing guests.
