Shirley joined the Comox Valley Airport Commission in January 2010 as Chief Executive Officer. Before joining CVAC, Shirley was Airport Manager for the Kingston Norman Rogers Airport in Ontario and the Bathurst Regional Airport in New Brunswick. She has more than 10 years of direct experience in the airport industry including senior management, project development, planning and operations. Her experience stretches over 20 years and includes the private, public and non-for-profit sectors. Shirley is a Certified Member of the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) and has obtained IAP status as a certified International Airport Professional through ICAO-AMPAP. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Communications Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Institutional Administration.

Brad was nominated to the CVAC board by the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce and brings a valuable business perspective to board discussions. The co-founder and president of Comox Valley Financial Services (later Rice Financial) from 1983 to 2004, he's currently a financial advisor with Coastal Community Financial Management, Inc. Brad has lived in the Comox Valley for more than 30 years and has a wealth of local board experience, including terms as president of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce and as chairman of Community Futures Strathcona. He was elected as Chair of the CVAC Board in March 2011.

Christine is the owner of Uniglobe Travel Alliance in Courtenay and has 20 years of experience in the travel industry. Prior to joining the CVAC board in February 2010, Christine served a two-year term as a Port Alberni city councillor. She also sat on North Island College's Board of Governors from 2002 to 2009, where she served as Chair for over three of those years. Christine currently sits on the Board of Directors for the North Island College Foundation. She was elected as CVAC Vice Chair in April 2011.

Russell has held a variety of public sector positions in British Columbia and is well-known within the province for his work as a senior manager in the BC civil service. He's currently a director of the Provincial Capital Commission's Executive Committee, and in recent years he's served as a director of the Trans Canada Trail Foundation, the Land Conservancy of BC, the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park Association and the Comox Archives and Museum Society. Russell has previously served as CVAC Treasurer.

Darlene has extensive experience on governing boards, in both an elected and a volunteer capacity. Some of her previous posts include mayor of Stewart, BC; chair of the Regional District of Kitimat Stikine's Economic Development Committee; and director of the North by Northwest Tourism Association. The former owner of both a transport company and a travel centre, Darlene's career has continually revolved around the travel and tourism industry. Now a horticulturalist, she remains deeply involved as a volunteer in the Comox Valley.

Daryl brings to the CVAC board a wealth of experience in international marketing, policy analysis, negotiations and operations. His CV includes positions with CIBC, the Canadian Wheat Board and the Government of Manitoba Treasury Branch, to name a few. Currently the manager, postmaster and chief economist of the Denman Island Store and Post Office, Daryl is also the Canadian cultural contact for Australian author Jutta Goetze and is active in the community as a minor hockey and lacrosse coach.

The owner of Ascent Coaching, Linda is a personal, business and executive coach whose clients span the globe. Leadership is a key element of her coaching and speaking engagements, as are team-building and productivity. Linda is a past president of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Comox Valley Women's Business Network, which named her Woman of the Year in 2002. An active Rotarian, she served as president of the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial in 2008-09
Jay Oddleifson

As a chartered accountant, the managing director of Shelter Point Distillery and a consultant on several local development projects, Jay brings a wealth of diverse expertise to the CVAC board. He has extensive experience in the travel & tourism industry, including more than a decade as CFO and Director of Planning & Development for Mount Washington Alpine Resort. A dedicated community man, Jay is a director of the Comox Valley Economic Development Society, treasurer of the Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Club and chairman of Vancouver Island MusicFest.

Scott is the president and general manager of Torry and Sons Plumbing and Heating Ltd., one of the most successful mechanical contracting companies on Vancouver Island. He has more than two decades of experience in commercial and industrial project management, including the administration of many multi-million dollar contracts. Projects he's overseen include the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, North Island College's Comox Valley campus and the Comox Valley Airport terminal. His keen business acumen and sound financial capabilities are tremendous assets to the CVAC board.

Carol was appointed to the CVAC board in July 2011. She is the founder of World Incentive Network Inc. (WIN), has devoted the last 15+ years to creating and managing sales incentive and employee recognition programs for companies of all sizes within North America. In 2003, Carol's dedication to her business, her employees and their clients resulted in being recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year for Vancouver Island, BC. Carol currently serves as the President of the Incentive Travel Council, a strategic industry group within the Incentive Marketing Association and she has previous Board experience for Society of Incentive and Travel Executives, Canada Chapter and the Comox Valley Home Based Business Association.
